Dentistry Today is Not Like It Was in the 1800s

You should go to see your dentist for more than just cleanings and when you have a toothache. You should go when you have other problems such as a clicking when you open and close your mouth or any kind of sores. TMJ can cause the clicking, and it can lead to chronic pain that is debilitating. Sores can just be sores, but they could also be cancer. If you have diabetes or take medications, you may get sores from dry mouth. I see my Denver dentist any time I have a problem with my teeth or the tissues in my mouth. I know people who actually put up with daily oral pain rather than scheduling an appointment to see their dentist. That is crazy in my book.

Why would you want to put up with pain on a daily basis? I don’t see why anyone would want to put up with canker sores in their mouth or a toothache that comes and goes because of a developing cavity. I hope you do know that if you do have pain in a tooth that something is wrong, and it will not resolve itself. It may stop hurting for a short period of time, but the pain will return. If you have tooth pain, that is a sign that something is wrong. I know people who have waited until they can’t take it anymore, and then they go to the dentist. By then you may have to have the tooth pulled. Why go through that when you may only need a quick filling that is painless?

I can understand fear of dentists. Well, the ones in the 1800s anyway. However, this is a new century that offers painless dentistry. You can even be knocked out for your treatments if you prefer. Don’t put up with oral pain when resolution is now quick and without pain.
