I love living in Vegas. I was born and raised here, but I moved to the east coast with my family when I was a sophomore in high school. I even went to college there, but my heart always considered Vegas my home. When I graduated from college, I applied at a few schools in Vegas, wanting to teach there rather than in New York. I was hired on almost immediately at one of the schools, which meant I had to hurry and find an apartment. I looked at the community website for one that my childhood friend lives at, and I loved everything that I saw there.
For me, it was half about the community amenities and half about the apartment itself. I knew that I was going to want some downtime on my own there, especially when I had to do things like read research papers and grade tests. The apartment that I found there has nine foot ceilings, air conditioning, washers and dryers, granite, hardwood flooring and so much more. (more…)
When I was a kid my parents took me to the dentist to get braces. He could not fit me for the braces at the time. They should have taken me to another dentist, but they didn’t. When I was a teenager I really disliked my teeth. I had one really crooked tooth, and the rest of them looked dull and almost yellow. Then I started getting cavities and had teeth pulled. I did not do anything about my smile until I was in my late 40s. It was then that the best dentist in Aurora CO helped me with a plan to get the smile I always wanted.
Would it have been better to have had my smile fixed as a kid? Certainly. (more…)
You should go to see your dentist for more than just cleanings and when you have a toothache. You should go when you have other problems such as a clicking when you open and close your mouth or any kind of sores. TMJ can cause the clicking, and it can lead to chronic pain that is debilitating. Sores can just be sores, but they could also be cancer. If you have diabetes or take medications, you may get sores from dry mouth. I see my Denver dentist any time I have a problem with my teeth or the tissues in my mouth. I know people who actually put up with daily oral pain rather than scheduling an appointment to see their dentist. That is crazy in my book. (more…)
